Incinolet Toilet Questions

What power does the Incinolet need?

A dedicated 20 amp circuit. Choose 120 V at about 2000 W or 240 V at about 3500 W.

How many people can it support full time?

120 V model is about 4 people, 240 V model is about 6 people.

Does it use water or need a septic system?

No. It incinerates waste using electric heat and vents outside.

Do I need a bowl liner every time?

Yes, for every use. New units include one box of 200 liners. Bowl Liners can be purchased here.

How long is a cycle and can I use it during the cycle?

Heater runs about 60 to 75 minutes, the blower continues 20 to 40 minutes to cool. You can use it any time during a cycle, then press Start again.

How much electricity per cycle?

About 1.5 to 2.0 kWh per full cycle. Example at $0.20 per kWh is roughly $0.30 to $0.40 per cycle.

What can go in the toilet?

Human waste, toilet paper, and tampons. Do not burn trash or food. Use a liner each time.

How do I vent it?

Horizontal or vertical to outdoors, end with a dryer flap or rain cap. If total run is over 10 feet or uses more than two elbows, increase to 6 inch pipe, 15 feet max. Do not vent into an attic or crawl space.

Will there be odours?

Little to none with correct venting and by starting a cycle after each use. Overloading or poor venting can cause odor.

What happens during a power outage?

If a cycle stops mid-burn you may notice smoke or odour. Open a window. When power returns the fan restarts to cool the unit.

How often do I empty the ash and how do I dispose of it?

Empty when ash is light in color or no more than 2 inches deep. Dispose of cooled ash in household trash per local rules. Do not use it as fertilizer.

Can I run it from solar or a generator?

Technically yes, but we don't advise it. If your system supplies the continuous wattage on a dedicated 20 A circuit. Plan around 1.5 to 2.0 kWh per cycle.

Where can I install it and what clearances are needed?
